COMPANY PROFILE
Pirovano Winery is a fith-generation family owned Company from Lombardy, founded in 1910. With great passion we produce still and sparkling wines from different Italian regions in our 2 cellars. We have been working for ages with farmers from several different areas who – like us - have been handing down the tradition from father to son (daughter in our case) for generations. As an BRC and IFS certified company, we supply on- and off-trade clients in Italy and abroad. Day by day we try to give our best in order to satisfy the final customers with a good quality wine at an affordable price.

Our history ... from the beginning to the present
Around 1850, our anchestor Amadio Pirovano was a shoe maker, but his passion was wine. So, he decided to close his activity and to open a tavern. The wine was bought from small farmers in Puglia (South of Italy).
His sons (Antonio and Costantino) continued their father’s business, until they decided to transform the inn into a trattoria. They also decided to extend the range of wines and got new suppliers in Abruzzo and Piedmont.
Then, in 1910, the 2 brothers started a small wine cellar called « Antonio Pirovano e F.lli».
Later on the company’s management passed to Constantino’s sons (Amadio and Ambrogio) and in the 1950’s two of Amadio’s five children ( Costantino and Fausto) changed the company name in «Cantine Pirovano s.n.c.».
In 1980, Costantino’s eldest son, Enzo, joined the company.
In 1989, coinciding with the expansion of the business, the construction of new operating spaces began.
In 1996 the company was transformed into "CANTINE PIROVANO SNC DI PIROVANO FAUSTO & C".
In 1997 the Pirovano family invested in the purchase of 90 hectares of vineyards and woods that belong to the "Terre Bentivoglio" estate (that is, loving the land) in Oltrepò Pavese, alongside commercial activity with production.
In 2002 the company abandoned its historic headquarters located in the center of the town of Arlate to move to the industrial area.
In 2007 the company changed its name to limited partnership (s.a.s) until 2012. After which the company was transformed into "CANTINE PIROVANO SRL".
In 2014, one of Enzo’s two daughters , Beatrice, joined the family business.
In 2016 the bottling of the 5lt barrel was dismissed.
In 2019, construction work began on the new warehouse with a photovoltaic system.
At the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, the two older bottling machines were replaced with the latest generation machinery with 4.0 technology.
This is a summary of the story of five generations, with commitment and dedication, have strongly believed in and wanted the growth and development of the family, leading to overcome the economic difficulties resulting from the two world wars and consolidating it during the economic boom that followed the second war.

Certifications
Cantine Pirovano achieved and renewed BRC (Global Standard for Food Safety) and IFS (International Food Standards) required internationally by all major retailers (even with unannounced audits IFS).
The Quality System has enabled the company to continually improve its range of products with special attention to the increasingly demanding consumer requirements in terms of food safety, authenticity, origin, traceability and management of allergens.

Sustainability
Pirovano Cellars seeks high product quality standard but always in the respect of the environment and the values of ethics and social responsibility. Environmental, social and economic sustainability is a perceived and inalienable value of the Pirovano family and its business. Commitment to these issues arises from the awareness that it is essential to integrate the development of the corporate business with the attention to the environmental and social impacts, to create constant value over time for the company, its staff, the customers and for future generations.
