COMPANY PROFILE

At 500 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Sibillini National Park, in the inner area of Marche Region, lie the plots and the Terre di Serrapetrona - Tenuta Stefano Graidi winery.
Viticulture was undertaken by the company at the end of the Nineties, when the first plants were planted, to produce from Vernaccia Nera, the indigenous black grape variety of the area great still wines. In fact, the farmers who had selected this grape variety over time, used to produce only sparkling wine from it.
In 2016 the property was taken over by Stefano Graidi, with the aim of carrying on with firm conviction the work of enhancing the ancient native Vernaccia Nera grape, which accounts for 80% of the estate's vineyard, and of preserving the Appassimento, its traditional drying method, still carried out naturally, resulting in the production of still Serrapetrona DOC wines and sparkling Vernaccia di Serrapetrona DOCG wines. Pecorino, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese are also grown on the 66-hectare estate.
The local winemaking customs have been combined with the experience of external technicians, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, aimed at a responsible agriculture towards the environment, employees, the local community and customers, with the sole purpose of obtain sustainable and quality products, able to show the potential of the ancient grape in its territory of origin, Serrapetrona.
The company operates in organic farming and, thanks to practices such as renewable energy production and water recycling, is committed, together with other winegrowers in the area, to a sustainable zero carbon denomination.
