WAS© is a quality trademark with product control specifications, made available to producers, to certify that sulphur dioxide is not used as an additive in wine making.This is an industry first in terms of providing consumers with products free of added sulphites.
The WAS© method of wine production provides antioxidant and antimicrobial protection similar to traditional wine-making, ensures the highest level of integrity in terms of oxidation and microbial protection without modifying the organolepticcharacteristics or altering the flavour with improper sensory notes. WAS© brand wines brand are high-quality wines produced in respect of strict productionregulations that enhance every production territory. They have 50% more polyphenols thantraditional wines, eliminate the effects of allergens and of headaches caused by the presence of sulphites in wines and are more digestible.The WAS© brand is authorised only for wines that pass rigorous winemaking protocolanalyses certified by independent laboratories, and regulated quality control tests.
The oenological adjuvants adopted by the WAS© specifications comply with European regulations (EC No. 606/2009-EC No. 834/2007-EC 889/2008), industry regulations (OIV OENO 6/2008 - OENO 7/2004 - OENO 28/2004 - E-Coei-1-tannin / INS. 181 - E-Coei-1-PROVEG) and OIV Practices (Art. 2.1.7-2.1.17-3.2.6-3.2.7) and ECOCERT and NOP standards for organic farming.
