Lugana is the new Italian Wine Destination, the experience of the sublime landscape of Lake Garda encapsulated in just one sip.
Today Lugana DOC has a significant presence in the viticulture of the area: in 2023 we reached nearly 28 million bottles and 2600 Ha cultivated. Lugana DOC is a bi-regional denomination, this means that the wine is produced both in Veneto and in Lombardy.
The DOC is characterized by a particularly rich terroir, located mainly in low-lying plains in dense, lightly coloured clay and limestone soil that covers a bed of mineral-rich glacial moraine.
The Lugana microclimate, which benefits from the temperate breezes of Lake Garda, is mild and subject to sharp changes in temperature between night and day. It truly is the perfect “climatic cradle” for nurturing and enhancing the peculiar characteristics of the indigenous grape Turbiana.
The grape’s thick skin and great acidity reveal an interesting wine, and makes Turbiana extremely versatile for still, sparkling and full body wines. Lugana wine has a reputation of ageability since it is inherently high in acidity guarantees that you can enjoy it now or let it evolve overtime for an even greater experience.
In almost all the wineries you can go and taste the wines or book visit at the winery . Since there are usually lots of international tourists, most of the wineries has guided tours and tasting in English.

Our denomination grows year after year and thrives on exports, in fact, 70% of the product is exported to more than 50 countries. Among these, Germany remains the main target.
